HORSEBACK RIDING TOUR ON LONG BEACHES AND BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAINS

Experience riding on the black and golden sand on this traditional trail on Löngufjörur beach. View the mystical Snæfellsjökull Glacier in a distance and mighty Eldborgarhraun lava field on your way back to the farm. Enjoy riding the Icelandic way with a herd of free horses running along.

The beautiful Snæfellsnes Peninsula extends far out into the Atlantic from the west coast. You can find many features of Icelandic nature in this part of the country. At Stóri-Kálfalækur Farm we start our ride into the mountains and enjoy the rich colors of nature. Passing through lava fields and along hillsides, we ride down to the shore and continue along the expansive beach. This traditional trail, only revealed when the tide is out, offers horse and rider an ideal opportunity to try their skill at “tölting” over long distances.

Participants on this tour join the longer Snæfellsnes Tour for four days and return to Reykjavík in the evening while those on the longer ride continue.

It is also possible to book this the full tour or partially i.e. Snæfellsnes or days 5-8 see our tour Löngufjörur Beach Ride
